Eid with Golf!

September 10, 2011 § Leave a comment

It was just amazing to spend the Eid days for the first time not sitting home and meeting people whom you have never met for the whole year. Golf was the main focus this time! In full relaxed mode I played golf for 3 days with great people. The weather was amazing, the venue was also one of the best and the company in which I got the chance to play was also phenomenal.

Islamabad Golf Club has 18 holes + I heard that they are making 9 more. With beautiful long fairways and fairly tough roughs, I think one can not get a better challenged course living in Pakistan. I being an 18 handicap, found it pretty good.  🙂

Here are some pictures that I took:

Visit to the Quaid e Azam Mazar with Critical Mass

July 26, 2011 § Leave a comment

Wow what a nice way of starting a Sunday morning. I picked up my backpack and headed towards DelaWala.  It was around 6:00 am as the sun was coming out. I was with 2 friends from our offroadpakistan.com group (Khalid Omar & Mahera Omar). At DelaWala a group know as Critical Mass was gathering to bike all the way to Quaid e Azam Mazar and back. There were approximately 20 bikers including us 3. The ride was approximately 18 km bike ride.

Critical Mass is a cycling movement out there on the streets of Karachi and also around the world. The group sets out at a set location and time, to pedal through set routes. They join together to reclaim public spaces and view the city through new angles. All bikes and bikers are free to join and play an essential part in promoting the nation and saving its environment! 🙂

The rout that we took was:

  • DelaWala
  • 3 Talwar
  • Martiot Hotel
  • Zainab Market
  • Mobile Market
  • Capri Cinima
  • Quaid e Azam Mazar
  • Norani Kabab house
  • Shera-e-Faisal Main Road
  • FTC building
  • then off to home DHA 🙂
The whole ride took us approximately 1 hour. Our average speed was 15 km/hr. Our Max speed that we achieved was 35 km/hr. (Iphone GPS)My Personal Experience:
The whole ride and experience was great. I think it could be organized better, as for people who are newcomers or those who are not in practice with cycling, are not able to keep up to speeds at which most cyclist were going at. This group is made for a cause, and it should roll as a group in the streets of Karachi, so that people are able to see and recognize that this group is out not for cycling or excersizing, but out for a cause….I think that the organizers should not let any one go ahead of them, so that to keep the group in a formation.  🙂

Earning money to have a better life style

November 9, 2010 § 2 Comments

People are on the run to earn money from one place to another. Life is so hard in real. Is it so? Or is it just that life is being made hard by our own self.

Life is a very beautiful gift that Allah has given to us. We should not make it a curse upon our self. We should enjoy living each and every moment. Some people will deny this fact. They think that life is a test and tests are to be taken the hard way. Which in one sense looks right. Life is a test. Everyday is a test for our own strengths  and weaknesses. Our strength meaning the good qualities that we have in our self are being challenged everyday by external forces. Which is a good thing because this way we are able to polish our self from within our self and make our strengths more stronger and rock solid.

Now comes our weaknesses. Our weaknesses are our bad qualities which we posses. No one would like to have their bad qualities take over their lives. We need to keep our bad qualities aside and learn to look ahead while holding on to our good qualities that we have.

🙂
